Script Overview: This is a story of three couples, Donna and Billy Ray who finally find true love; Diana and Bob who realize that memories are best left as memories; Dwayne and Sue who fall in love again. Act 1 introduces the 3 main couples and their reactions to finding out about their high school reunion which brings back memories of their teen age years. Their individual reactions are based on their school memories and life experiences since then. It also brings a mature evaluation or anxiety attack, depending on the character, of their teenage angst. They do this through “re-living” the planning and attending their senior prom. Act 2 is their high school reunion forces them to look at themselves and where they stand either as individuals or as their commitment to existing relationships. what they have achieved and how their lives have lived up to their hopes and dreams. It resolves the conflicts and story lines developed in act 1. Back to Top Main Characters: The Girls (who want to be “Bobby’s Girl” in their teenage years, especially Diana): Donna is now the high school principal. She never married but had a secret teenage relationship with Jimmy and never got over the trauma of his death. Although a good girl she continues to like bad boys which doesn’t fit well with her public image or career choice. Diana is Donna’s best friend; she always had a crush on Bob the high school jock. She moved away, has been married and divorced, but is really hoping that she can re-connect with Bob at the reunion, since she knows he never married. Sue (Runaround Sue) married Dwane shortly after graduating, due to the imminent birth of their first child. They have had a rocky relationship but are still together. The Guys: Bob, the high school coach and ex- high school football star, is actually secretly gay but doesn’t want to come out for obvious reasons. Dwayne is now the school caretaker, he’s a rebel and he’s never been any good, married to runaround Sue. Finally grows up in act 2. Billy Ray is a mystery guy, a loner who left town after high school and hasn’t been heard from since. He was Jimmy’s best friend. Jimmy, the leader of the pack, exists only as mythic figure.
