- This is billed as the free encyclopedia that anyone can
edit. Obviously
then a certain amount of discretion should be applied to its use,
especially in the case of subjects that are particularly
controversial. Nonetheless, it is indeed an easily-accessible
source of a lot of good background data.
Dictionary
- Actually more of a dictionary gateway: type in the word you want to
define and you will be given a selection of authorative sources from
which to choose or compare.
Weather Info (US)
- This link takes you to NOAA's National Weather Service site and once
there, you can zero in on specific cities or regions, pull up radar and
satellite images, and much more.

Similar to the link above, but this one takes you to The Weather Office
site of Environment Canada. As with NOAA's site, this one offers
current contidions and forecasts for Canadian centers as well as radar
and satellite imagery, historical data and more.
CNN News
- This site offers up-to-the-minute US news and world news from an
American perspective. Keep up to date with what's happening in
your world.
CTV News
- Here again, this site is similar to its US counterpart and provides
Canadian news and world news from a Canadian perspective. As with
CNN, business, sports, weather, entertainment and other news categories
are covered.

for Disease Control & Prevention
- This is the official US government site for distibution of health
information, particularly as it relates to infectious diseases such as
the H1N1 Swine Flu Virus.
Public Health Agency
of Canada - Once more, this official Canadian government
agency web site is approximately parallel to the CDC web site
immediately above.
